Japanese Entrepreneurial Training Program
August 25, 2003

Larta and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) have created a four-month course to provide business training to Japanese entrepreneurs.

Larta is developing workshops and internship programs that will familiarize Japanese businesspeople with American business practices, and will also arrange mentorships and site tours for the visiting students. Larta's workshops will deliver an integrated experience designed to provide Japanese entrepreneurs with a full array of skills needed to start, fund, and manage new business ventures. A key component of these workshops will be a focus on development of each participant's business plan.

The program will also include a nine-week internship program that puts the participants' learning into practice and a formal ceremony where participants present their business plans to a distinguished group of investors and industry experts. The program will be based on the practical realities of successful entrepreneurship, drawing from Larta's extended network to deliver the following services:

Development and administration of practical entrepreneurs business training workshops that focus on real-world application and outcomes

Development and administration of an advanced internship program that meets the needs of each Japanese entrepreneur

Comprehensive entrepreneurial workshop program materials, with detailed documentation, allowing for ongoing reference by participants

Dedicated and qualified mentorship, one-on-one mentorship for each participant to advise and offer constructive feedback

Special tours and site visits that expose Japanese entrepreneurs to cutting edge research centers (university and industry), executive management, and leading small, medium and large technology firms.

A final business plan presentation event and ceremony in which students deliver their business plan to leading U.S. business executives and the venture/investment community.

The program will take place in Los Angeles, with scheduled tours and visits ranging from Santa Barbara to San Diego, where appropriate.
