In a report that came out earlier this year, California was found to be home to the greatest number of wireless companies in the nation, making it a wireless powerhouse (San Diego Regional Technology Alliance and O' Melveny Consulting LLC, California's Wireless Wonders: A Study of California's Wireless Industry).

The state was also found to be the nation's largest employer of employees in the wireless sector. California's wireless industry employs approximately 60,000 people. The state is home to the largest number of public wireless companies, which accounts for over 28 percent of the nation's wireless companies.
