
Since
1994, Larta has managed the California Technology
Investment Partnership venture fund (CalTIP) in Southern
California, on behalf of the Division of Science,
Technology & Innovation of the State of California's
Technology, Trade & Commerce Agency.
CalTIP
is a California venture fund focused on turning cutting-edge
technologies into commercial products and services.
In this role, Larta has administered over $12 million
through over 88 grants. Larta oversees CalTIP in the
following regions of Southern California: Orange,
Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, and Ventura Counties.
CalTIP
provides up to $250,000 in California state funds
to each company to match federal technology awards.

The
CalTIP application process is delayed for 2003 pending
the outcome of the California state budget process.
Should funds become available, the solicitation will
be released in late May or June with proposals due
two months later. Larta will hold CalTIP information
workshops on dates to be determined.
